Most Influential Blogger Award

Thank you to Maryam from A Fresh Start blog for nominating me as one of your Most Influential Bloggers! I love following her fishing adventures and really appreciate her nomination! Check her blog out!

I understand this is not the golden globes, but I am going to pretend like it is for a minute. Picture me, looking out at my audience, wearing a glorious gown that is way to puffy for my body type and overly accessorized, saying:

I started blogging four months ago for a few reasons- but one of them was because my best friends live far away and my adventures were so funny to me that I felt like I had to tell someone (awkward part first). However, ultimately my goal is to make people laugh, spur them on towards adventure and to realize that you don’t have to be a professional anything to enjoy the outdoors- if an awkward mom can do it, you can too. So this award means a lot to me because I do want to be an inspiration! Thank you!!!

I want to thank my friends and family for encouraging me (this is where I choke up for a second) and my inspirational English teacher from High School, Mariane Love (her blog: Slight Detour).

I would also like to thank Todd Kerr, at Angler’s Habitat, for his advice and encouragement Website:  www.anglershabitat.com 10168089_690056517696884_5565390274193179525_nI am now helping with their women’s fly fishing Facebook page and working on getting more women out in the rivers fly fishing. Follow our site here: Women’s Fly Fishing

So thank you to all of those who encourage and especially to my followers for reading my sometimes lengthy, strange, and of course, awkward adventures. I have been blown away by the kind feedback and wonderful people I am meeting in the bloggosphere and hopefully on the river someday!

Now to my nominees: I don’t have much time to read but when I do, these one seem to inspire me or make me laugh or make me drool…

Afroirox ….A great witty writer that covers mom topics and makes me laugh.

Waking Up Water…. Beautiful nature and fish pictures!

The Venturing Angler….The best links to fishing videos- great for folding laundry or breaking up the monotonous elliptical.

Current Streams…Great information for fly fishing!

Live to Write, Write to Live…A group of professional writers that are so inspirational and educational.

Ben’s Bitter Blog…Funny dude with great videos that crack me up.

The Limp Cobra…Traveling angler with lovely photos and sometimes off humor that I enjoy.

Master of None…Tenkara fisherman that just started his blog. He has a unique style and a way with words that make you think a bit.

Stalking the Seam…This blog is one of my absolute favorites. Its fly fishermen/fathers out seeking to find the best waters while also seeking to be the best family guys.

Buttoni’s Low Carb Recipes ….I just found this blog the other day and loved the recipes. It inspires me towards not eating junk.

My song I am supposed to share:

This is my favorite song at the moment (as in ‘today’ because I change every day and have weird songs that I enjoy), and music video actually, because this is how I party. If I could fish all day then party like this at night (with my family there too), it would be the perfect day (maybe steak and lobster for dinner in between- I’m a foodie). When I think about God and the freedom I have experienced through his love in my life, I just want to jump around. I think that is why I love being in streams and surrounded by nature- it feels like it is God’s way of telling me not to forget he is there and he has made all things new in time. The outdoors is sometimes my church and the campfire dance party is where I like to let it go. “Come on. It’s time to look up”….

  1. So . . . I was just re reading this, and somehow I did not grasp the video part.

I have something cool to tell you. I posted the video to “To Be With You” by Mr. Big–a few posts back.

I also happen to mention that I played a show with Eric Martin(lead singer) some years ago.well, it seems I’m playing with him AGAIN August 23, Novato Ca.

Part of it has to do with the ridiculous Article I wrote about him.

Anyway, I also wanted to tell you that I was Fly fishing the McCloud River last week, and a friend if mine told me your blog was a treasure.

    That’s, even cooler!
